ProvaLabs is a biotech startup based in Seoul, South Korea, spun off from Seoul National University. ProvaLabs develops non-destructive, electrophysiology-based biosensor instrumentation for in vitro biological models, helping pharmaceutical companies and therapeutic ventures make drug discovery faster and more cost-effective.

Advanced in vitro models such as organoids and organ-on-a-chip devices are a better system for preclinical testing of efficacy and safety at the cell, tissue, and organ levels. However, their value depends on reading them out reliably without destroying the sample. ProvaLabs provides that measurement layer. ScalloP® maps epithelial barrier integrity through spatially resolved TEER measurement. OrganoInsight® performs electrical characterization of 3D organoids for functional and toxicity screening.

Because our readouts are label-free and repeatable over time, they fit into automated lab workflows, improving both throughput and reliability in early-stage screening. As data accumulate across models and compounds, they will further support target and lead identification. ProvaLabs also operates core facilities for rapid prototyping and production of sensor-integrated devices, which can be used for extended applications and services.
